Assessment
As with the junior sections, reviews are conducted at the
end of every chapter. Formal tests are conducted at the end
of every term on a cumulative basis based on the board
pattern of testing. In the 10th standard,
chapter-wise tests are conducted at the completion of the
syllabus. This is followed by a series of trial exams. The
class teacher, head of the senior school and the headmaster
continuously monitor each child's performance. Commendations
are issued on a weekly basis to encourage the children to
excel in academics. Certificates and medals are awarded at
the end of the year to the most promising students.
Art, Craft, Music and Dance
All children have an opportunity to choose which of the
above activities they intend to pursue to a higher level.
Examinations in Music, Arangetrams in dance, art
competitions and cultural competitions form an extensive
platform for children to showcase and enhance their
respective talents.
Sports
Students in the senior school are encouraged to excel in
their primary sport of choice. As usual, intensive and
professional coaching is a hallmark of the school. Several
friendly matches and house competitions are also held to
simulate actual competitive conditions. Students are also
given the opportunity to practice other sports if they so
desire.
Clubs
Once a week, students in the 8th and 9th
standards have a substantial amount of time allocated for
clubs. These clubs include Quiz. Drama, Debate, Language,
Math, Photography, Eco, Sculpture, Needlework, Craft,
Journalism, Chess and Catering. As in every other field,
all clubs are monitored by professional and dedicated staff.
Students in the 10th standard are required to
attend the citizenship club which focuses on imparting
universal citizenship values to the children. This involves
extensive interaction with old age homes, orphanages and
schools for the economically disadvantaged. They also attend
several lectures and workshops on ecology preservation,
civic duties, Gandhian philosophy etc. |
