Note from the Headmistress

Riverside Public School is a secular, co-educational, day and residential school dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. Whether in the field of academics, sports, arts or music, we believe that every child has inherent talents that we strive to unearth and foster through individual attention.

The school is administered by the Selma Memorial Trust, a non-profit educational trust, whose primary goal is impart quality education in and around the Nilgiris.

The school is located on a 10-acre plot on a scenic campus about 2 kilometres from Kotagiri Town in the Nilgiris. It enjoys salubrious climate and a serene environment free from all distractions. It is easily accessible by road from Coimbatore, Coonoor and Udhagamandalam.

Our hallmark is the quality of our staff. They come from all over India but have the common qualities of excellence, dedication and team spirit. The school has excellent infrastructure to cater to the educational, creative and physical needs of all children.

The highlights of our educational philosophy are: we insist on individual attention, whether this is small class size, individual counselling or cosy cottages in the hostel. Instead of emphasising rote learning, we provide real education and we emphasise thinking.

The socialization of the child is very important to us, achieved with individual counselling, exposure to real world conditions through charity work, and healthy competition.

We believe in fostering excellence. Thus continuous improvement is a standard practice followed here. We strive to nurture each child's unique talent - be it in academics, co-curricular activities or sports by constant monitoring and encouragement.

The school prepares children to appear for the ICSE and ISC Board examinations.
